The difficulty in obtaining municipal information, crucial to a focused and effective public planning, fosters the need to develop new methods of mapping phenomena of interest to the State. These are less costly and faster methods for catching occurrences that fall within the competence of the public administration. The objective of this project is to propose an alternative method, based on the analysis of satellite images, for mapping, monitoring and evaluation of human action in the terrestrial plane. It involves the automated identification of (a) primary roads and secondary roads; (b) and productive and unproductive agricultural regions; (c) isolated rural communities
